I wanted a private space where I could actively record videos, write final greetings, and capture my stories today, knowing they will be safely shared with them when I am no longer here.
It is about leaving behind a true piece of who we are — to comfort them through the milestones we might miss.
We designed this platform to outlast us all. Your vault is fully funded upfront and stored completely separate from our daily operations.

If we ever close, you'll receive ninety days' notice along with a download of your full archive in openable form — only you. An independent Danish trustee holds emergency credentials and acts on our behalf if something prevents us from closing it ourselves. Your recipients are never involved while you are still here; that promise does not change.
Once a year, we ask you to confirm you're still here. If you don't respond, we send reminders for three months — by email and SMS. If you take no action in that window, the capsule is released to your recipients.
AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS in transit. Servers in Frankfurt with an ISO 27001-certified provider, inside EU jurisdiction. Files are isolated per user and audited continuously.
Use a personal email when you begin — one you will keep for years, not a work address. From Settings you can also link a recovery phone number; once verified, your phone can be used to sign in if your inbox ever goes dark. If you lose access to both, write to hi@efterlad.com and we will verify who you are through other means and restore access by hand.
Yes, always. You can add, remove or change files and recipients as long as your account is active. Capsules only ever open after you have passed — there are no scheduled delivery dates to set.

No. Recipients are only notified and granted access when the capsule is released. You can preview at any time what they will receive.
